Lily – Painting Of A Rag Doll Cat SOLD
A new painting, meet Lily. She is quite the most beautiful Rag Doll cat. She has an amazing coat as well as gorgeous blue eyes.
I wanted to do another painting on a textured surface. It can be pretty challenging if you are used to smooth canvas and often goes badly. But then I thought of Lily. Her pose is simple but strong and her lovely coat, with it’s bold blocks of colour seemed ideal.
Many thanks to Joanna Whitehead who volunteered her as a model and posted photos of Lily on my facebook page The Painted Cat Art.
Looking at the photos of her gave me the idea for this little painting. I’d been thinking about it for a while, so when I needed a subject for the textured surface painting Lily was perfect. This is a 10×8 inch acrylic painting on board. The texture is a mulberry paper set into the surface of the board with acrylic medium. It gives a soft, fibrous surface.
I’m really pleased with the way she turned out.
