This painting of Tia, a gorgeous Burmese cat, with her playful string, was originally commissioned…
Racing Burmese – Action Cats!
These two adorable ninjas spend their days chasing each other, leaping high in the air, racing like whirlwinds over the grass and generally having a good time. I’m interested in trying to capture their dynamic movement, their wonderful shapes and the blur of colour as they flash by. It’s quite a challenge but this is the first (successful) painting in what I hope will be a series of paintings of cats in action.
Catch Me If You Can
12×6.5 inch oil on board
It’s an oil on board, quite small at 12 inches by 6.5 inches. I’m very pleased with this little painting, not least because I’ve been trying to capture cats in action for a while now and this is the first painting that has succeeded. I have a small pile of failures as well! I’m keen to try another one! I think my cats are feeling too lazy in the heat to get up and race around though, so I’ll have to use the ninjas again. :-)
Here’s a close up detail.
