Bob – Commission

Bob curled up in his basket in the sun. A lovely pose which really shows off his eyes but tricky to paint because part of him is in bright sunshine and part in shadow.

Grey cats are perhaps the most difficult in terms of colour too. They have a lot of subtle colours in their coats, blues and greens as well as warm tones of reds and lilacs. Add the hot yellow sun and the reflections from the basket and the other things around him and Bob’s coat is just full of colour.
